We’re planning for the future of the ROHI Project, and we need your support to make it happen!
In 2026, our goal is to grow and provide more students with access to life-changing education. Currently, we have 180 students and we have a waiting list of students praying for the opportunity to join ROHI. Meeting our current enrollment requires us to raise $150,000, but exceeding this goal would mean expanding our reach, increasing enrollment, and offering even more support to our students, families and teachers.
Matching Gift Opportunity
To help us reach our goal, three generous donors have joined together to offer a $75,000 matching challenge for all gifts made by January 6th!
Our printed materials mention a $60,000 match, but thanks to a last-minute donor, the match has now been increased to $75,000, allowing every gift to be fully matched and helping us more easily reach our $150,000 goal.
This means your generosity will go twice as far — every dollar you give will be doubled to make an even greater impact on our students, teachers, and the ROHI community. ❤️
Our Stewardship Commitment
We are committed to being good stewards of every dollar entrusted to ROHI. As we prepare for 2026, we will finalize the number of students and staff based on the results of this year-end campaign. Our goal is to ensure that the 2026 budget does not exceed our confirmed income, so that every commitment we make is fully sustainable and every child we serve continues to receive quality care and education.
Give Through Appreciated Stock or Investments
Donating appreciated stock or other investments is a powerful and tax-efficient way to support the ROHI Giving Tree.
If you own stocks, mutual funds, or other investments that have increased in value, donating them directly can allow you to:
- Avoid paying capital gains tax on the appreciation
- Receive a charitable deduction for the full market value
- Make a larger impact for you than giving the same amount in cash
Best of all, gifts of appreciated stock are fully eligible for the current Giving Tree match, allowing your donation to be doubled while also maximizing your tax advantages.
Your stock gift helps fund ROHI’s 2026 budget, supporting education, meals, spiritual development, technical school scholarships, and so much more for children and families near the Tegucigalpa city dump.

A: Trash Mountain’s SPOKEN Event (Oct 1–31). This campaign supports the administrative costs of all 17 programs within Trash Mountain Project (TMP). See more at Trashmountain.com
ROHI PROJECT GIVING TREE CAMPAIGN: Because ROHI is the largest of the TMP programs, we also host our own year-end fundraiser. The ROHI Project Giving Tree (Nov 1–Dec 31) is focused entirely on ROHI students and families, providing education, meals, and hope for children living near the Tegucigalpa dump.
Both efforts are important. One strengthens the global Trash Mountain network, and the other directly invests in the kids and families you love at ROHI.

Q: Is $150,000 the full ROHI Project 2026 budget?
A: No. The $150,000 goal for the Giving Tree Campaign is in addition to the pledged donations we already receive from our dedicated monthly, quarterly, and annual donors and sponsors. We are deeply grateful for these faithful commitments, which cover most of our budget.
The purpose of this campaign is to fill the gap and it is an important part of determining our 2026 annual budget. Your gifts through the Giving Tree ensure that every program, meal, class, and opportunity for our students continues without interruption.
Q: How does ROHI plan responsibly for future growth?
A: Each year we set our budget based on confirmed income and giving commitments. After this campaign, we will finalize our 2026 plans for student enrollment, staffing, and programs to ensure we remain sustainable and faithful stewards of your generosity. In addition, ROHI maintains a small but growing reserve account that is dedicated to the purchase of our own land and the future construction of a permanent school campus. This helps us plan ahead wisely while continuing to serve our students and families today.
