The impact you made this month brought tears, hope, and transformation.
We say this a lot, but it’s always true: You’re changing lives at ROHI.
May was full of those “this is why we do this” moments — the kind that stop you in your tracks, stir your heart, and remind us that love in action is the most powerful force in the world.
Here are just a few of the things you made possible this month:
You Celebrated Moms Who Pour Out Love
Thanks to your generosity, we celebrated the incredible mothers (and grandmothers!) of ROHI with a joyful morning full of laughter, games, and heartfelt connection.
The children blessed us with special performances — and one mom even sang us a beautiful song. We shared a delicious chicken lunch, enjoyed cake together, and ended the celebration with smiles all around.
We also honored the amazing ROHI staff who are mothers themselves — women who give their hearts both at home and every day to the children in our care.

Each mom received a bag of basic groceries — a small but meaningful reminder: “We see you. We honor you.”
Thank you to every donor who made this celebration possible. And above all, we thank God for His provision, for the joy of this day, and for the strength He gives these women to carry so much with grace.
Together, you made these women feel deeply loved and remembered. What a beautiful way to reflect Christ’s love.

| You Made Children Feel Known Because of you, sponsor gifts arrived at ROHI — little packages filled with love: notes, drawings, small surprises, and heartfelt encouragement. But what you gave was so much more than a gift. It was a reminder. We saw eyes light up. Smiles stretch wide. One child whispered, “They remembered me. How can I say thank you?” That’s the power of sponsorship. It speaks directly to a child’s heart: You matter. You’re seen. You are not forgotten. Yuliana’s Dream — Made Possible by You From the time she was little, Yuliana dreamed of helping others — especially those without access to medical care. She used to say, “I want to help heal the sick.” This month, she took a huge step toward that dream. Yuliana officially graduated as a certified nursing assistant — a massive milestone made possible through her perseverance and your generosity. We’ve had the joy of walking alongside her for years — watching her grow through challenges, stay faithful through hardship, and remain dedicated to her calling. Even after losing her beloved grandmother — her primary caregiver — Yuliana never gave up. Now, thanks to your prayers and support, she’s changing the trajectory of her life. But she’s not done yet. She’s already planning her next step: becoming a registered nurse so she can serve those in greatest need with even more skill and care. ![]() This is the power of what you’re doing through ROHI. You’re helping young people break cycles of poverty and walk boldly into God’s calling for their lives. Please keep praying for Yuliana — and thank you for helping her believe that her dream was worth chasing. You didn’t just help her finish school. You helped her believe that more is possible. Incredible Progress to Celebrate! But There’s Still Work to Do…As of June 5th, only 54 children are still waiting for a sponsor. They are waiting for someone to say, “I choose you.”You’ve seen what sponsorship can do. If your heart’s nudging you to say yes again — or to tell a friend — we’d love to connect you.To give you perspective: back in March 2024, only 55 students were sponsored out of 177 students. Now—just one year later—those numbers have flipped. Praise God! ![]() Every sponsorship means more than just school. It brings hope, stability, and opportunity to a child’s life and shows families living near the trash dump that they are not forgotten. Let’s keep going! Please continue to share about the ROHI Project and the life-changing power of child sponsorship. Together, we can find a sponsor for every student. You’re helping break cycles of poverty, injustice, and despair — and replacing them with joy, dignity, and the love of Christ.Keep being brave. Keep being generous. Keep saying yes to the next story God’s writing — through you. With all our love and gratitude, — The ROHI Team |
| ROHI Project aims to provide comprehensive care to the children, youth, and their families who live and work in the Tegucigalpa, Honduras, municipal dump. The project name ROHI is inspired from one of the Hebrew names for God, Jehovah Rohi meaning “the Lord is my shepherd” as seen in Psalm 23. |
