Celebrating 3 Years of ROHI Project
This August we joyfully celebrated the 3rd Anniversary of the ROHI Project! What began as a vision to bring hope and opportunity has grown into a vibrant community of faith, education, and care. Every milestone has been possible because of your faithful support, prayers, and generosity.
Our anniversary week was full of joy and gratitude. We are thankful to each institution, church, and family who joined us in blessing the children and families from the Tegucigalpa trash dump community, including:
- Financiera Crediq
- Park Valley Church – Ekklesia Loarque Tegucigalpa
- Presbyterian Church Gracia Soberana
- Honduran Air Force
- Connecting Generations NGO & Secretary of Security in Honduras
Together, we celebrated with food provisions for every family, cake, delicious meals, games and piñatas, crafts for all students, tasty snacks, family worship services, talks and photos, and even the repair of a family’s home in need. Each moment pointed to God’s love and faithfulness to this community.
We give thanks first to God, and also to each person who made this celebration possible.
“The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.” – Psalm 23

Recycling Fair: Turning Waste into Treasure
Our students showed incredible creativity during the Recycling Fair, transforming coffee bags, newspapers, snack wrappers, spoons, cups, and other materials into clothing, artwork, and household items. It was a powerful lesson in stewardship and innovation, proving that beauty can emerge from the most unexpected places.
Helping Hands
We are so grateful for the many groups who partnered with ROHI in August to serve our families and community:
- CREDI visited and donated provisions, helping ensure families had food on the table.
- The Presbyterian Church helped repair aROHI family home, completing much-needed improvements to make it safer and more livable.
- El Dorado Church visited, led a worship service, and distributed provisions to families.
- The NGO Connecting Generations hosted a Youth Forum on the importance of family, encouraging students to value strong relationships at home.
These helping hands reminded our students and families that they are seen, loved, and supported by a caring community.

Launch of the Christmas Campaign
On August 26th, we launched our Annual Christmas Campaign! With your help, our goal is to bless 180 children with new clothing, shoes, a special Christmas meal, and a provisions bag for their families. As of 9/16/25 we have raised $3,482. Each gift costs $50 per child, and together we hope to raise $9,000 by October 15th.

Looking Ahead – Beginning the 4th Quarter
August closed the third quarter with exams and report cards, giving families a chance to celebrate progress together. Now, as we enter the final term, students are focused on finishing strong. Classes run through early November, followed by a month of activities leading up to our graduations and Christmas celebration before the long school break.

Thank you for walking alongside the ROHI Project. Your support is bringing hope, joy, and transformation to children and families in Tegucigalpa.
ROHI Project aims to provide comprehensive care to the children, youth, and their families living and working in the Tegucigalpa, Honduras, municipal dump. The project name ROHI is inspired from one of the Hebrew names for God, Jehovah Rohi meaning “the Lord is my shepherd” as seen in Psalm 23.
